Professor and Graduates nominated for GRAMMYs


The MTSU School of Music is proud to announce that Dr. Cedric Dent, one of our faculty, and Jeff E. Cox and Chris Munson, two of our recent graduates, have been nominated for GRAMMY awards for 2009!

Dr. Cedric Dent , MTSU Professor of Music, and his group, Take 6, have been nominated for three GRAMMY awards.

Recent MTSU School of Music graduate and percussionist, Chris Munson , has been nominated for a GRAMMY. Chris is part of the group Trout Fishing in America, whose recent album Big Round World was nominated in the category of Best Musical Album for Children. Chris received the M.A. in Music from MTSU with a specialization in Jazz Studies in May 2008.


Recent graduate and bassist, Jeff E. Cox , has been nominated for a GRAMMY. Jeff has been touring with Earl Klugh and performed on Klugh's latest album The Spice of Life, which has been nominated in the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album. Jeff received the M.A. in Music from MTSU with a specialization in Jazz Studies in December 2007.
