Hi! I am the coordinator of Next Step and am also an Academic Advisor in the University
College Advising Center. My goal is to help you succeed at MTSU by answering any questions you have and getting
you to the right people that can help this transition to college to be an easy one.
Students entering college from foster care and independent status have many unique
challenges to overcome. With the help of our mentors and members of Next Step, we'll
guide you through the application, financial aid, housing, and other resources that
you may need. I will be glad to help you through your course selections while you
are here at MTSU. Through Next Step, you'll also meet other successful MTSU students
from similar backgrounds that are eager to share their experiences with you. Once
you decide on a major, you will also be assigned a faculty advisor within that area
that can provide you with information about internships, research opportunities, and
careers or graduate work in your field. In the meantime, and anytime after, come by
the office or call me to set up a time when we can talk about how Next Step can help
you succeed here at MTSU. My door is always open! |
