Dr. Rosemary Owens Community and University Partnerships
Welcome to MTSU Community and University Partnerships
Mission: The mission of partnerships at MTSU is to encourage the development of important bonds and connections that lead to sharing of human, spatial, financial and knowledge resources.
Vision: By 2012 MTSU will be a recognized leader among comprehensive public universities that emphasize undergraduate education while also having a significant commitment to graduate and research programs and to partnership-centered outreach programs.
Values: Partnerships facilitate the development of a regional sense of community; they promote communication and understanding between the worlds of work and service; and they integrate the workplace with the world of higher education.
Definition: Partnership is defined as a mutually beneficial relationship between two or more institutions including: Businesses, Industries, Universities, School systems, Service organizations, and Non-profit organizations...that allow goals to be accomplished that are beyond the reach of any one party acting alone.
Partnerships encourage development of important bonds and connections that lead to a sharing of human, spatial, financial, and knowledge resources.
President McPhee's Comments from his August 2001 Inaugural "We must strengthen our relationships with the community by developing alliances with business, industry, the school systems, and the city and county."
