Absences - Handbook
If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a particular class(es) for an extended period of time, you should make every effort to contact the professor of each class that will be missed. If emergency circumstances prevent you from being able to contact the professor or department, you may contact the University Withdrawal Office. An excused absence can be authorized only by the instructor in a particular class.
