You will be assigned an advisor from your academic department or school representing your major area of study. Your advisor will assist you in selecting courses and planning your schedule.
If you change your major, you should contact your academic department chair or school director for an advisor assignment. Undeclared majors will be assigned to an advisor within the Academic Support Center located in McFarland.
It is important that you maintain contact with your advisor throughout your enrollment. Faculty advisors post a schedule of office hours, and you should feel free to call on them anytime you need assistance.
One of the most successful ways to ensure a successful academic career is to utilize the academic advising process. Academic advising is the time for you and your advisor to discuss academic and career goals, schedules for the upcoming semester, and opportunities available to you in your major. These advising sessions should occur at least once a semester.
