Student Programming/Special Events - Handbook

Because "college should be more than just going to class," the students and staff in the Special Events/Student Programming office are committed to generating educational experiences outside the classroom. Students have opportunities to become directly involved in the planning and production of special events on campus. Active involvement enhances valuable life skills such as problem solving, process management, creative thinking, ethics, and values.

Membership is open to any student. There are no prerequisites--except a willingness to get involved! Also, students can join any of the four all-student programming committees.

  • MTSU Concerts presents a wide range of concert and specialty programs including major concerts, regional and local concerts.
  • MTSU Films sponsors an extensive blockbuster feature film schedule and a student film festival shown in the Keathley University Center Theater.
  • MTSU Fine Arts brings programs to campus, including drama, ballet, alternative films, exhibitions, and multimedia events.
  • MTSU Ideas and Issues sponsors individuals who provide thought-provoking, insightful, and, sometimes, controversial lecture showcases.
