MTSU believes in the value of applied knowledge--merging classroom knowledge with real-world work environments. Through EXL, students, staff, faculty, and local businesses and organizations can find valuable ways to interact and encourage diversity and collaboration throughout MTSU and the community.
EXL plans call for students to be formally admitted to the program and after their completion of program requirements, they will have the EXL Scholar designation on their transcripts and will wear special cords at commencement to signify their achievement.
The program includes opportunities for students to participate in several types of courses:
In addition, students will complete an on-campus volunteer activity and an e-portfolio. These EXL program activities will allow students to gain experience in their field of study that should enhance their careers and/or provide opportunities for graduate school. Students may also elect to take EXL courses but not be formally enrolled in the EXL Scholars Program.
