Fifteen national fraternities are represented on the MTSU campus. Affiliated organizations are the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. These groups sponsor or participate in a number of events for the benefit of their members and for the community at large.
Friendship, development of leadership ability, and the opportunity to provide a service to the campus and community are among the advantages of fraternity membership. IFC membership selection takes place during the fall and spring semesters. All first-semester freshmen with a high school grade point average of 2.5 are eligible to participate. All students who already have college credit must also have a grade point average of 2.5 or better to participate.
Fraternities currently recognized at MTSU are Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi, Kappa Alpha Order, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Pi Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Sigma Pi.
