Learning Labs - Handbook

Tutorial labs are offered to students requesting assistance in the Mathematical Sciences and English Departments.

Additionally, tutorial labs are provided to students taking Prescribed Courses in reading, writing, or math. These include the Prescribed Course Writing Lab, the Prescribed Course Reading Lab, and the Prescribed Course Mathematics Lab.

Tutorial Services

First-Year Experience Halls (Cummings Hall and Corlew Hall)

• tutors living on each floor
• three English tutors
• three math tutors
• Tutoring Center on first floor open 30 hours a week
• additional subject matter tutoring upon request and availability

University Writing Center and University Speaking and Writing Center

• Peck Hall 325 and Ezell Hall 119 and online at www.mtsu.edu/uwc
• works with students in any discipline on any writing project
• open to all students Monday through Saturday
• offers 25- or 50-minute sessions working on any stage of the writing process
• individual or small group tutoring
• sponsors special groups and events such as Creative Writing Groups and Open Mic Night
