Release of Directory Information - Handbook

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act allows MTSU to release directory information concerning you without your consent. Directory information includes your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date and place of birth, major field of study, your participation in officially recognized activities and sports (if you are a member of an athletic team, weight and height), dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, the most recent previous educational agency or institution you have attended, and other similar information.

If you prefer that directory information concerning you not be released, you should go to the Records Office, Cope Administration Building 106, and complete a Non-Release of Information Form. This form is also available via the Web at www.mtsu.edu/records . All other offices will be notified not to release your directory information. Students must select a period for non-release of directory information for (1) through the current term only; (2) until the student graduates or ceases enrollment; or (3) indefinitely.
