Internships provide students with practical experiences in a professional work setting.
The goal of an internship is to better prepare students for careers while discovering
likes or dislikes of potential career paths.
If you want to register for an internship or applied project, you must get permission
from the professor who is listed as instructor for the course.

Students majoring in Organizational Communication enroll in ORCO 4220 ( 40 internship hours per 1 credit hour). This is an online EXL course (experiential learning). Students wanting to do an applied project enroll in ORCO 4210 (40 work hours per 1 hour credit). This is an EXL course.
Students majoring in Speech & Theatre with a concentration in Communication Studies
enroll in COMM 4900 (40 internship hours per 1 credit hour).

Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce needs help with fundraising events.
Tennessee Repertory Theatre is seeking a Professional Marketing Intern to begin work in January. The internship

South Nashville Family Resource Center needs interns for 10 hours or more per week to help plan community projects and coordinate

Dance Theatre of Tennessee and the Academy of Performing Arts in Nashville need several interns to work on marketing and do administrative tasks
for the nonprofit ballet company and dance school.
Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro needs interns for marketing, graphic design, fundraising, and theatre
management.
