Welcome

If you are a student who has adult responsibilities beyond your college courses, we consider you to be an adult learner, regardless of your age.

We encourage you to use this web site and come by KUC 320 for information and services we can provide to you to make your academic experience at MTSU as painless and positive as possible. We are here to support your education and help you succeed as a student.

The Off-Campus Student Services office fosters a relaxed atmosphere where students can gather over lunch or a snack, enjoy a cup of coffee, converse with other students who are juggling college along with their work and families, study in between classes, check their e-mail messages, and just take a break. We have provided an online version of our Older Wiser Learner's Handbook with detailed information about many topics for you to consult.

Each February the Adult Student Services office sponsors an Adult Learning Conference at MTSU. We invite adult learners from the mid-south and the higher education professionals who work with them. Past conferences have included Increase Resilience to Increase Retention; Teaching Adults to Juggle Their Lives and Their Learning and Mentoring Adult Learners: Relationships for Retention; Shining a Light on Adult Learners; From Student Poverty to Financial Security: Planning to Get Here to There, and Choosing to Thrive: No Matter What! The Adult Learning Conference 2010 will be held February 18-19, 2010. Click here for more information.

Whether you come by for social reasons, or to pick up a form you need, or to request information, you will find a place where you will truly feel that you belong at MTSU.
