The MTSU Childcare Consortium consists of the MTSU Child Care Lab, the Child Development
Center Lab, and Project Help. Together, through these three facilities, MTSU students
can find childcare for their children-infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.
For specific details on each program please visit: Child Care Services on the MTSU Campus.
If you have an infant or toddler under five years of age:
The Child Development Center Lab, located in the Fairview Building, is a practicum site for students studying the early childhood development program. It operates four infant/toddler 1/2 day programs 2 days a week for 3 hours per day. It takes children 12 months to four years of age. Monday through Thursday, the 3 year olds have the mornings and the 4 year olds have the afternoons, 3 hrs each. If this schedule meets your childcare needs, contact Elaine Palmore at (615) 898-2198 for details.
If you have a child with special needs:
Project Help is an early intervention program that offers services free of charge to families who have very young children with developmental delays or
disabilities. The play based learning experiences are provided in a natural-environment,
i.e. children who are developing typically. Project Help is the only center based
program for very young children with special needs, 6 to 36 months of age, in Rutherford
County. It has been in operation for 26 years, becoming an increasingly important
part of both the community and MTSU. There are also a limited number of spaces available
for children from ages 15 months - 36 months without disabilities. Please contact
Project Help for more information on tuition rates for children without disabilities.

If you have a three or four year old:
The MTSU Child Care Lab, in the Womack Lane Apartments on Alumni Dr., serves 24 children on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule and 24 other children on a Tuesday-Thursday schedule during the Fall and Spring semesters, with first priority given to part-time care.
First priority is given to full time care in the summer months. This three-star rated
facility provides an excellent care option for students enrolled at MTSU. Children
must be within one month of their third birthday and potty trained. If this facility
will work for your child, contact Nancy James at (615) 898-2970 for details.
If you have a school-age child:
There are many days during the year when MTSU classes meet, but school-age children have a school holiday or a snow day. Kids R Kids can take school-age children up to age 12 on these holidays if you have pre-registered for the holiday care and provided a copy of your child's immunization records in advance. If you want to sign up for this holiday care, contact Kids R Kids at (615) 907-5437 for details.
