Scholarships
Jane Nickell Taylor Scholarship Fund:
Non-traditional female student needing financial assistance. Junior or Senior level who is attempting to reconstruct her life after an unhappy marriage, job, or other break in formal education. Heart of Tennessee Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to a Rutherford County resident with a 2.5 GPA who submits an application form, letter of interest (including statement of career goals and financial need), and recommendation letter from a faculty member who knows the applicant’s work well. Preference is given to re-entry/non-traditional students. Online applications not accepted. Application available beginning October each year in the Women’s Studies Program Office. June S. Anderson Foundation Scholarship:
The June S. Anderson Foundation awards yearly tuition scholarships to full-time or part-time students who are 23 years of age or older and who are preparing for careers in non-traditional fields for women. Scholarships are awarded primarily to undergraduate students. Link: http://www.mtsu.edu/~jsa/
McNair Scholars Program:
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at MTSU helps two groups of undergraduate students prepare for and succeed in graduate school: (1) first-generation (neither parent has a college degree) with financial need and (2) under-represented (Black, Hispanic, American Indian/Alaskan native).
