Graduate Programs in Health and Human Performance

Message from the Director

Thank you for visiting the Web site for the Ph.D. program in Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University. The Ph.D. program includes a group of unique students and nationally known faculty who share a common interest in broadening the quality of life in the United States and around the world through the sciences associated with the fields of health and human performance. A cornerstone of the Ph.D. program is the strong emphasis placed on conjunctive lines of research developed by our students and faculty. This approach creates a vested interest in the student's program of study from our faculty, resulting in the establishment of a viable line of research for the student which they can develop and upon graduation.

The doctoral program is viewed by the department as a strategic asset in the academic master plan of Middle Tennessee State University. To that end, the program is positioned for long-term, purposeful growth and is always looking for talented students who want to better understand the roles of teaching, research and service in both the higher education community and the community at large.

After visiting this site, I hope you will consider calling me at 615-904-8359 or email me at joey.gray@mtsu.edu or contacting the faculty member who is designated within your program of interest for an appointment.

Joey Gray, Ph.D.
