CS/IT Career Seminars

Academic and private partners will work closely with the high schools in the surrounding counties to provide CS/IT career seminars. Local IT professionals and university faculty/students will enlighten high school students, and teachers about CS/IT careers, current developments in CS/IT, summer CS/IT camps, and provide a positive and attractive image of the computing profession.

Sample meeting topics include:

  • What are the CS/IT job opportunities in Tennessee and Alabama, and in the nation?
  • How does one select the appropriate high school classes in preparation for a CS/IT career?
  • How does one apply for CS/IT programs in college and how does one apply for scholarships?
  • How will Alice programming, robotics, multimedia programming, or other advanced CS/IT topics be included in high school classrooms?
