My name is Deborah Newman. I have been a teacher at
Project Help since 1992. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in
university studies degree with a concentration in elementary and
special education. I would love to pursue a degree in social work
with a concentration on families. I have attended numerous
workshops and taken classes to increase my knowledge for teaching
young children.
Over the past 16 years I have been privileged to impact the lives
of so many children, empower families, provide hope, encouragement,
and shape the future one child at a time.
As I think about the children and families who have become a part
of my life, I reflect on the beautiful memories of my older
daughter Dede and my husband Buddy. Their lives touched so many!
Denisha, my younger daughter will attends MTSU. In October I became
a proud grandmother. Gabriel Trenton is a wonderful grandson and
takes my breath away.
Since working at Project Help, the children and staff have taught
me the importance of laughter, patience, and the real meaning of
finding joy in the small things. My goal is to continue making a
positive difference in the lives of children, treating them as
individuals, and loving them unconditionally.
