Project Help is an inclusive preschool for young children. Children who have developmental
delays learn and play with those who are developing typically. The programs engage
children in a variety of fun and exciting educational experiences. Because Project
Help is a part of both MTSU and Rutherford County community, linkages and relationships
are strong due to the involvement of professional educators providing hands-on outreach
to families.
Programming and educational activities are based on the Tennessee Early Childhood Education Early Learning Developmental Standards. The staff of Project Help strives to ensure that all of those involved have meaningful
and enjoyable learning opportunities.
Early Intervention
  |
For children with lags, delays, or special needs Project Help offers our Early Intervention
program. This program is highly structured and goal oriented.
Each child has an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) documenting their strengths
and areas of need. Teachers use these IFSPs to adapt lesson plans and activities to
these areas of need, and ensure each child can participate and learn.

Prep
  |
The period prior to kindergarten is an essential part of every child's learning experience.
Project Help Prep offers a fantastic supplement to Head Start for children with IEPs. For children
who are developing typically, Prep provides a classroom focused on the skills needed to excel in kindergarten.
Prep is available to all children including: those with IEPs, those who had IFSP but are
not eligible for IEPs, and those who are developing typically or above.
All children are evaluated using the Developmental Assessment for Children (DAYC).
This diagnostic tool allows our teachers to ascertain each child's strengths and needs.
With this information lesson plans and activities can be tailored to provide an individualized
curriculum.
