Welcome to the Red Room. We teach the oldest learners here at Project Help. The Red Room experience starts approximately at 2½ and lasts until the celebration of their third birthday.
In our room we are working on helping our children transition to the preschool classroom by focusing on early learning concepts such as ABCs, colors, and shapes. We work to promote our children's emerging communication skills by encouraging the to ask and answer questions as well as to express their wants and needs.
Our classroom has learning centers where children can learn to play and interact with their peers. In these centers these almost three-year-olds are able to learn about cause and effect, to play and share with others, and to be artists!
Our children love to sing, dance, paint, and cook, and in the Red Room are given a chance to experience all of the activities. We try a variety of foods such as dried raspberries and bananas, expand dramatic play, climb and ride tricycles, and we are always singing.
We use thematic units in our classroom to help us learn a variety of concepts such as opposites and rhyming. Our friends in the Red Room are funny and wise and have many charming ideas about how to get what they want. We are really sad when they turn three and graduate from Project Help, but we try our hardest to ensure that they are ready for that next exciting step in their lives.
