There are two sites in which center-based programs for Project Help operate. There are three classrooms at 206 N. Baird Lane. and one
morning only classroom at 820 Fairview Dr.; Room 120. Each Classroom has a teacher and a teaching assistant called a child care aide. The class sessions are listed below and are in operation Monday through Thursday. The staff offices are housed at these two locations.
At Baird Lane, there are three morning classes and three afternoon classes. For the 12 typically developing children, the program is all day. There are four children with special needs and goals as well as four children who are typically developing in each morning and afternoon session.
There are three classrooms here. The youngest children are in the Green Room and they begin their two or four day per week program at 15 months. They will stay in the Green Room until they are about two years old. The Blue Room has the middle-aged babies, from 24-30 months, and the Red Room has the oldest Baird Lane babies until they are three and must "graduate." The Infant Stimulation classes are provided at the Baird Lane building only.
The format for the Yellow Room is a "Parents Day Out" type of program. The age of these children is more diverse with toddlers participating from 15 to 36 months of age. Although the Yellow Room currently is a morning only program (8:30-11:00) there are plans to expand into the afternoon.
Both Project Help sites are licensed by the Department of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities (MH/DD) and certified by the Department of Education (DOE). Regulations that apply to both entities are included in the building standards and programs.
