Faculty Non-Instructional Assignment Grants

The Non-Instructional Assignment Committee will be accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 AY. The committee anticipates eight (8) grants for the 2010-2011 Ay.

The purpose of the Non-Instructional Assignment grant is to relieve faculty members from all teaching assignments for one semester or half-time for the academic year in order to pursue areas of activity in the faculty's discipline that could clearly not be accomplished under the constraints of a regular workload assignment. The committee encourages applicants to submit proposals which involve on-campus or off-campus research/creative activity, internships, fellowships, and other activities related to professional growth and development in order to broaden the body of knowledge available to MTSU faculty and through them, to MTSU students and the wider community. The committee discourages the submission of proposals involving either existing or, new course /curriculum development.

The deadline for applications is 4:00 PM on October 30, 2009. No late applications will be accepted. Applications with the official Provost's Office time and date stamp later than the above deadline will not be accepted for the fall 2009 round of evaluations. The committee will review NIA applications shortly thereafter and applicants will be notified in early December of the NIA Committee recommendations. The original completed and signed application printed on one side of the paper should be sent to:
