Minor in Mental Health Service

This minor is designed for students who want more specialized instruction in mental health services issues. Such a minor would be appropriate for students majoring in psychology, health education, sociology, social work, or child development and family studies. This minor would also be a compatible second minor for students who have minors in gerontology, health, sociology, social welfare, family studies, women's studies, or health care services. Also, students who are considering medicine (pre-med), a job in the medical profession, or social work as a career would find this minor beneficial. This minor is not appropriate for pre-graduate psychology majors or for psychology majors who already have one psychology minor (e.g., I/O).

It is recommended that all students (psychology and non-psychology majors) pursuing this minor already have taken PSY 1410; however, 1410 will not count towards the 15 hours required for this minor.
