The major in Recreation and Leisure Services provides knowledge, skills, and experiences for students interested in preparing for positions in the recreation and leisure services profession. The major offers a general core accredited through the National Recreation and Parks Association. Students may choose 6 courses from emphasis areas in Outdoor Recreation, Recreation Administration, or Recreational Therapy. See below for a list of core requirements and optional emphasis area courses. All RLS majors are required to complete a 100 hour field studies requirement and a 480 hour internship before graduation.
