 - Middle Tennessee's athletic department inducted seven student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on March 23 at the Rose and Emmett Kennon Hall of Fame.

There were four female and three male student-athletes inducted into the Blue Raider's 11th class. Women's tennis had two inductees, followed by one each from men's tennis, football, soccer, baseball, and softball.

Women's tennis inductees included Nayara Moraes and Jesse Grace, while Ben Davis represented men's tennis.

Other inductees included: Tori Hawkins (soccer), Jordan Parker (football), Garrett Ring (baseball), and Danielle Shadley (softball).

Chi Alpha Sigma is a non-profit organization established to recognize college students who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years. The goal of the organization is to recognize outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate athletes.

Middle Tennessee has now inducted a total of 136 student-athletes into the society after just 11 years of eligibility. In 2005, the first year Blue Raider student-athletes could be inducted, a total of 26 were recognized. Middle Tennessee placed 10 student-athletes into the society in 2006, 15 more in 2007, 10 in 2008, nine in 2009, 16 in 2010, 13 in 2011, four in 2012, 12 in 2013, 14 in 2014 and seven in 2015.
