The Blue Raider duo were two of seven golfers from C-USA to make the cut, while only MT and UAB had multiple selections on the All-Academic Team. The seven members were selected out of 25 nominees in a vote by the league's women's golf sports information directors.

"It's a big honor to be two of the seven golfers that were selected to the All-Academic Team," head coach Chris Adams said. "It's a true testament to how hard they work on and off the course.

"They are two of the top three players on this team and both take the academic side of their responsibilities as student-athletes very seriously."

Gotcher, a Speech Language Pathology major with a 3.9 GPA, is making the team for the second season in a row. The Clarksville native is a three-time WGCA All-American scholar and C-USA Academic Medal Winner and has made the Dean's List every semester at Middle Tennessee.

Long, an Organizational Communication major with a spotless 4.0 GPA, is making the team for the first team in her first season eligible to be honored as an All-Academic Team member. Also a Clarksville native, Long was a 2016 WGCA All-American Scholar and C-USA Academic Medal Winner and has also made the Dean's List in each of her semesters at Middle Tennessee.

"Between these two and Jenna Burris, we have three great leaders on this team who are worthy of this type of honor," Adams added. "Having student-athletes like those three on the team makes my job much easier."
