Miguel Negre Fernandez made his second appearance on the exclusive list with a 3.880 cumulative GPA with a major in Mechatronics Engineering, while competing in every match this season for the Blue Raiders.

The junior from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, is tied for second on the team in dual match singles wins with a 10-10 mark on the season, including seven wins at No. 3. Negre has also paired with Gian Issa in every doubles match this season. The duo is 8-9 after the regular season, with three wins at No. 2 and five wins coming on the last doubles court.

MT sophomore Luis Morillo Diaz earned his first All-Academic honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.945, also in Mechatronics Engineering.

Before earning a national singles ranking of No. 113 at the beginning of the season, Morillo won his first nine matches in the fall. The native of Santiago, Spain, carried his momentum into the dual match season, winning eight matches total in the spring, including wins at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5. Morillo won two matches in doubles early in the season with partner Max Rauch.

"I don't even hesitate to worry about these guys in the classroom or on the court," MT head coach Jimmy Borendame said. "They put in a lot of work, and what's really neat is both of them have improved dramatically on the tennis court this season. To see them be impact guys in the lineup and go above and beyond in the classroom is awesome."

Negre, Morillo and the Blue Raiders will host Charlotte on Friday afternoon for the quarterfinal round of the C-USA Men's Tennis Championship at the Adams Tennis Complex.
