TWO NAMED TO C-USA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

photoIRVING, Texas – Two Middle Tennessee track & field athletes were named to the 2015 Conference USA Track & Field All-Academic teams as announced by the conference office today.

Atsu Nyamadi, a 2015 NCAA East Regional participant, and Atarah Abdullah-Muhammad were selected to the men's and women's teams, respectively.

Nyamadi, a junior from Accra, Ghana, has a 3.40 GPA in liberal studies and competes in the multi-events. His best score of the season came at the Georgia Decathalon, where he scored 7,532 points and finished fourth. At the C-USA Outdoor Championships, he scored 7,464 points and placed third.

Nyamadi is slated to compete in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., May 28-30 in the decathlon and javelin.

Abdullah-Muhammad boasts a 3.86 GPA in English and earned four top-10 finishes outdoor in the jumps. She captured her highest finish of the season in the long jump at the Bellarmine Classic, tying for third with her 5.21-meter bound. In the triple jump, the sophomore jumped a season-best 11.72 meters at the Yellow Jacket Invitational for seventh.
