THREE BLUE RAIDERS NAMED TO C-USA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

IRVING, Texas - Middle Tennessee student-athletes Kelsey Brouwer, Tori Hawkinsand Emily Jorgenson were named to the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams on Wednesday.
For Brouwer, the 2015 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, represents the Blue Raiders
on the all-academic first team. She has played every minute of the season (1814:25)
in net for Middle Tennessee, notching 10 shutouts. Brouwer holds a 0.74 goals-against
average, a .879 save percentage and averages 5.74 saves per contest. In the classroom,
Brouwer boasts 3.914 GPA as a business management major.
Brouwer has now been named to the C-USA All-Academic First Team for two straight seasons.
Hawkins also held a spot on the second team in 2014 and repeated the feat this year.
She is tied for the team lead in both goals and assists with four apiece and she is
the only Blue Raider with over 10 points (12). She has started all 19 games for MT
upfront and has the most shots (51) and shots on goal (26). Hawkins appears on the
second team with a 3.741 GPA in aerospace UAS operations.
Jorgenson joins Hawkins on the C-USA All-Academic Second Team after anchoring a defensive
unit that ranked third in the conference with a 0.83 goals allowed per game average.
The Overland Park, Kan. native was also MT's main offensive weapon in the first half
of the season, tallying three goals through Sept. 27 including a game-winner on a
penalty kick against Western Carolina. Jorgenson currently holds a 3.762 GPA in business
administration.
The announcement marks the third straight season that MT has had three players earn
spots on the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams.
Middle Tennessee is one of just three schools to have three players honored in 2015.
