DREAM Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet the following requirements:

• Incoming freshman for the Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 semester
• Tennessee resident, and US citizen or permanent resident
• Graduate of Tennessee high school or Tennessee homeschool
• Meet academic requirements for the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship, currently 21 ACT* OR 980 SAT* OR 3.0 GPA* but can change annually.
• Meet all eligibility requirements for the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship
• EFC of 12,000 or less on 2013-2014 FAFSA
• Must enroll full-time for every fall and spring semester

Consideration will be given to all areas of diversity that enhance the educational experience of the student body. This includes but is not limited to first generation college applicants, students from underrepresented populations, such as minority groups, students who have disabilities or have overcome hardships, and students with special talents and/or abilities.

*Please note the following:
GPA and test scores on file with the Admissions Office at the time of the scholarship review will be used for awarding purposes. Typically, the 6th-semester GPA and ACT/SAT scores (without writing sub-scores) through the December test date will be used for scholarship considerations. Only graduates of eligible Tennessee schools can qualify with a GPA.

Renewal Requirements

The DREAM Scholarship will be available for fall and spring semesters only and will be renewable for up to eight semesters, dependent on available funding. Students must meet the following requirements to retain the award:

• Enroll full-time (at least 12 hours) every fall and spring semester
• Meet all renewal requirements for the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship, including but not limited to the following:
  • Enrollment requirements: Do not drop below 12 hours during a semester
  • GPA requirements: Maintain a 2.75 lottery GPA after 24 and 48 hours, and a 3.0 lottery GPA after subsequent semesters
• Complete the FAFSA annually, by May 1 of each year, and complete the verification process by July 1, if selected
• Meet federal Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
