Enrichment Scholarships are awarded to applicants based on academic achievement. Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
Enrollment: You must be enrolled in at least 6 hours for both the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters. (Enrollment for both terms will be verified in mid-spring, when applications are being processed.)
You must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
You must be pursuing your first undergraduate degree; if you are working on a graduate degree or a second undergraduate degree, you will not be considered.
You must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
You cannot be a recipient of other scholarships awarded and/or funded by the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office.
In late spring, you will receive notification regarding whether you were selected
as a recipient. An email will be sent to your MTSU email address at that time.
This scholarship is awarded for one academic year only; students must reapply each
year to be considered. Award amounts and criteria may be updated annually.
How Recipients and Award Amounts Are Determined
The scholarship staff will determine whether each applicant meets GPA and other requirements,
as noted above. If available funding is not sufficient to award all eligible applicants,
students will be ranked based on GPA. Scholarships will be awarded to top-ranked students
according to available funding.
The standard award for the Enrichment scholarship is $1,000 to $2,000 per year for full-time enrollment. (Recipients who are enrolled part-time will receive prorated amounts of 50% or 75% of the full award; students who expect to graduate in December will receive a one-semester amount which is half of the full-year amount.) Award amounts may vary each year, depending on available funding and the number of eligible applicants.
Students must submit an online application via ScholarX by February 15, 2013, to be considered for a 2013-2014 scholarship. Applications will be available through ScholarX in late fall (around the time that fall grades are posted). Students who miss the priority deadline or who were initially denied but are now meeting scholarship requirements may submit a one-semester scholarship request in the Scholarship Office beginning two weeks before each semester; if funding is available, additional scholarships will be awarded after the first six weeks of the term.
