Other Transfer Scholarships at MTSU

(Please note:  These scholarships are available only to students who will first enroll at MTSU for the summer or fall semester.  Students who plan to first enroll in the spring semester can find information about scholarship opportunities on our Spring Transfers homepage.)

Transfer students who are interested in the scholarships listed below for the 2013-2014 academic year must have an admission application and all required admission documents (including a transcript through the Fall 2012 semester) on file in the Admissions Office, in addition to completing the appropriate scholarship application.  Consideration will be given to students who submit a scholarship application, apply for admission, and submit required admission documents by February 15, 2013.

Honors Transfer Fellowship

The highest award given to a transfer student in the University Honors College.  A minimum of 60 earned hours with a GPA of at least 3.5 is required for consideration.  Honors Transfer Fellows will receive $7,000 per year for 2 years; a limited number of recipients incurring out-of-state tuition costs may receive $14,000 per year.  Recipients may additionally receive consideration for study-abroad scholarships.  For more information and an application, please visit http://www.mtsu.edu/honors/Transfer_Students.php. Transfer Diversity Scholarship

The Transfer Diversity Scholarship is available to incoming transfer students who meet financial need, diversity, and academic requirements.  Diverse students are members of underrepresented groups such as first-generation college applicants, members of a minority race or ethnicity, students who have disabilities or have overcome hardships, and students with special talents and/or abilities. 

Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and 45-105 earned hours after the Fall 2012 semester, as well as an EFC of 12,000 or less on the 2013-2014 FAFSA.  A 'Consolidated Application for Scholarships through Financial Aid & Scholarship Office' must be submitted via ScholarX by February 15, and a FAFSA must be submitted at www.fafsa.ed.gov by March 1.  Recipients will receive $4,000 per year for 2 years.  (25 scholarships per year)

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Available for transfer students who are members of PTK; priority given to members of the All-Tennessee Academic Team.  The scholarship is renewable for up to four (4) semesters.  Please contact the Admissions Office at (615) 898-2111 for additional information; apply online via ScholarX between December 1, 2012 and March 1, 2013.  The award is $4,000 per academic year.  (5 scholarships per year)

2+2 Scholarship

Transfer students from Columbia State Community College or Motlow State Community College will be considered for a 2+2 Scholarship if they have at least a 3.0 cumulative college GPA, will participate in the 2+2 Program beginning with the 2013-2014 year (including taking MTSU courses at the community college campus), and submit a 'Consolidated Application for Scholarships through Financial Aid & Scholarship Office' via ScholarX by February 15. 

Applicants who have completed one year at MTSU through the 2+2 program bud did not apply or were not selected in their initial year may also be considered.  No weekly service requirement.  The award is $1,500 for one academic year and is renewable for up to four (4) semesters.  (15 scholarships per year)
