 Emily Bleuze

Emily Bleuze Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

I am running to become a senator because I want to be able to make a difference at MTSU. After having the wonderful opportunity to be a member of the Freshman Council, I've enjoyed being able to represent the freshman class. Becoming a senator would make me a voice for the campus as a whole. When students have questions, I'll be equipped to answer them. I would be working for changes on the campus to better the student body and MTSU. Being a senator is being a leader, something I would be proud to do for MTSU.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If I was elected to serve for SGA, I would make sure the students to know more about what's available to them on our campus. Through my first year here, and being part of the Freshman Council, I've loved being in the know about what the latest news and events are on our campus, and passing on the information to excite my fellow students. I feel that many students do not involve themselves enough in clubs/organizations or attend events we have. I would make sure to get the word out about events, and answer any questions students have about our campus. I want my fellow blue raiders to enjoy their experience here at MTSU.

 Corey Franklin

Corey Franklin Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

Since my freshmen year at MTSU, I have been involved with SGA. I was apart of the inaugural Freshmen Council Class, and a senator for the college of Basic and Applied Sciences for the first semester of this year. I would love to continue to work with SGA simply because I have seen the tremendous things they do for this campus. I also know that I can continue to bring a great leader to this organization as well as new and fresh ideas for legislation, homecoming, and community service.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If selected to serve for SGA again, I know I could bring improvement to the student life at MTSU through my unique diversity and involvement. Being that I am involved in various things on campus, it is easy for me to reach out to numerous different students. This can definitely help improve student life at MTSU.

 Andrew George

Andrew George Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

Hello, everyone! Currently, my close colleagues are in Student Government Organization and have grown into better people from listening to the students on campus. Witnessing their growth has intrigued me to join this organization to understand student's concerns and be able to address these problems to officials. Becoming a Senator will allow myself to help improve the academics, environment, and future of students at Middle Tennessee State University. Also, this will be a great opportunity to meet new people and show that their opinion matters to everyone. I look forward to meeting everyone soon. Thank you and have a nice day.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

Selecting me to be in SGA will be the game changer of the year. I would like to improve the welcoming of new students to the campus by offering a collection of information about joining organizations on campus to help make their college experience memorable. Being involved in college is a great way for students to know more about who they are, search for activities they enjoy, and network with people. In the future, I will work with current students by redesigning how campus life is operated. There will be more information about how to successfully network with future employers and receiving updates from advisors about joining organizations that correlate to their majors.

Quint-Shon Johnson Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

I really love SGA and the involvement that SGA has with the university. I am currently serving on SGA Freshman Council and I absolutely love it. I love that everybody on the executive board is friendly and we have great discussions on ways that we can help improve our university as a whole. I am currently running for a seat in Senate in the College of Business.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

I would try my best to take surveys and see what the students want to see changed the most. Also I would interact more with the students and view their opinions so we can make the university great for the university and also students attending the university.

 Finoy Perkins

Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

I am running for a Senate for three reasons. First, I want to continue serving my school with pride and class. Second, the students need a voice that helps to meet their needs and concerns. I want to run again for reasons to assure the student body that running for senator means everything but serving my university is the most important reason. Without student ideas and students itself, MTSU would not be the greatest school in Tennessee for undergraduate students and graduate students.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If I were re-elected to serve for SGA, my first plan of action would be accommodate and inquire with students with their primary concerns and figure out ways I can solve the problem. I would continue to serve my university outside with community service and work. My second plan of action is to create more diverse and susceptible clubs for students of all nationalities to join for networking, friendship and long lasting benefits to explore skills that involve working together in teams etc....

 Cecily Rivers

Cecily RiversWhy are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

I am running for the position of a College of Business Representative because I served as Freshman Senator Spring 2011 and as a previous representative for this college 2011-2012. During my term as a college representative I constructed legislation for more benches for seating outside of classrooms in the College of Business which was passed and has been implemented. That visible fact shows that I genuinely care about the concerns of the students in our college, and I believe that I qualify to hold another Senate position and continue represent the Business and Aerospace students of MTSU. Also, I have been an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Inc. since Fall 2010, and I believe that the skills that I have gained in Alpha Kappa Psi have helped me grow as a leader and have enabled me to improve my capability to fulfill the responsibilities of a SGA College of Business Representative. I am a very approachable person and would love to help improve this college in whichever way I possibly can. I am currently pursuing a major in Business Management with a minor in Business Administration. I have great passion for business and love the business world and will represent the College of Business to the fullest as a College of Business Representative.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

Upon being elected as a Senator, I will listen to the voice of the students in the college and present legislation to get their desires fulfilled. Also, I will vote on other pieces of legislation that will improve the College of Business.

 Thomas Stovall

Thomas Stovall Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

My name is Thomas Stovall and I am running for senate because upon visiting MTSU, I immediately fell in love with the ever-expanding campus and the cultural diversity of the students in attendance! Being a member of the Band of Blue also fostered a great deal of school spirit within me also. I feel that MTSU has grown to become the resourceful and campus it is because the community thrives from individuals collaborating on opportunities to better not only the campus but the community surrounding it. As a member of the Freshman Council during the fall 2012 semester year, my fellow council members and the took great pride in insuring that the freshmen experience is optimized by gathering input and executing with our best intentions independently and in conjunction with the senate. I must say it was quite a humbling privilege to represent the freshman class.

With this new opportunity, I plan to reach a whole new realm of dedication to my community and lose myself in the service of others.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If selected to serve for SGA, I promise to work diligently with the student body, senate, and the incredible faculty that we have here to safeguard the progression of our campus and community. It is evident that I am dedicated to service with my participation on the Judicial Board, Freshman Council, and my Secretary position with Phi Beta Lambda. I pledge to always make the most of the opportunities I have and ultimately work purposefully toward the betterment of MTSU and the community as a whole and embody the words "TRUE BLUE!"
