 Dominic Cooper

Dominic Cooper Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

A proven leader, humble individual, and excellence in and outside of the classroom is why I am running for the office of Senate. My strong background in leading and working effectively with groups of people is what has prepared me for the office of Senate that I am seeking. I can guarantee that if elected I will proudly serve in the Senate as your representative for the University College.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If selected to serve as an SGA Senator, I believe the most important and effective action to improve the quality of student life at MTSU is to listen to the questions, comments, and concerns of our current and future students. I will actively observe and listen to the student body to seek actions that would not only benefit myself, but all of us a unified student body.

 Christina Mahan

Christina Mahan Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

I am running for senate because I would love to get more involved on campus. I love this university and I want to help make it an even better place for all of its students and faculty. I am a hardworking person and will listen to all of my fellow student's concerns and suggestions and relay them to the rest of the Student Government Association.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

If I am elected to serve as a senator on SGA, I would like to put more emphasis on our teacher evaluations. Offering incentives for good evaluations and consequences for negative ones will help our teachers focus on their student's needs specific to all of their classes. Another issue I want to help with is finding a way to keep our spending down and to curb all unnecessary expenditures. Keeping my ears open to suggestions and concerns from my fellow students, I will push issues like these and others until solutions are found and met with action that will better student life here at MTSU.

 Madison Walley

Madison Walley Why are you running for a position within the Student Government Association?

The Student Government Association is one of the most important organizations on campus because it is a vessel through which the student body can voice their opinions. As an undeclared major, I would be able to represent a large group of students—if elected SGA senator—who are still in the exploration phase of their college careers. I feel I could communicate the needs of this diverse group of students well.

If you were elected to the SGA, what would you do to improve the quality of student life at MTSU?

As aforementioned, I feel an important function of SGA is to serve as a means of communication for students who have a concern or issue with campus related matters. If selected to serve for SGA, I would encourage the facilitation of this communication by alerting the student body of opportunities to share these concerns or issues with the Student Government Association. Communication is the foundation for informed change.
