About SGA

The Student Government Association is the voice of the student body of more than 20,000 students attending MTSU. The Student body has representation in almost all facets of campus life from University Standing Committees to Homecoming Events. The SGA is a unicameral legislative system that works to facilitate the only venue for students to appeal MTSU parking tickets. The main purpose of the Student Government Association is to provide a place where students have a voice working together with faculty to make MTSU utilize its potential.

The best definition for SGA is quite simply what you make of it. The door for you to be involved in the student government will never be closed. For as long as there are ideas to be considered, changes to be made, work to be done, the phrase "too many leaders" will remain an oxymoron.

The SGA receives its funding from Student Activity Fees. A current budget will be made available after fall elections.
