The Campus Recreation Center opened in 1995.
- It was built entirely from student fees.
- The current director is Charlie Gregory who was a graduate student here when Glenn Hanley
was serving as director.
- Cheerleading reports to the director of the Campus Recreation Center.
- The 1994 yearbook says that all cheerleaders must keep their weight at 127 pounds
or less.
- Ole Blue, a blue tick hound, was MTSU's former mascot.
- Old Blue was described as being 6'2" and weighing 300 pounds.
- MTSU's current mascot, Lightning, debuted at a men's basketball game against Tennessee
State University in January, 1998.
