- Famous farewell concert of The Judds
- The first concert on campus was Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.
- This concert held in the Alumni Gym prior to Murphy Center being built.
- The KUC Theatre started showing films in 1982.
- "Notorious" was the first film to be shown with about 30 people in attendance.
- The James Union Building (JUB) was the first student union built in early 1950's.
- It was named after the first dean of students, Clayton L. Jones.
- It contained a bookstore, cafeteria, post office and lunchroom where faculty and students
mingled.
- The lunchroom had a juke box for dancing.
- Keathley University Center was constructed after we outgrew the JUB.
- This building was named after former Dean of Students, Dr. Belt Keathley.
- We've long since outgrown Keathley University Center and have started construction
on a new student union that is scheduled to open in 2012.
