University Convocation

The MTSU University Convocation marks the beginning of each new academic year—and
also marks your transition to a new stage of life. The ritual of our University Convocation
marks your entry into the Middle Tennessee State University community, and highlights
the rights and responsibilities that go with being True Blue.
This year's Convocation keynote speaker is R. Dwayne Betts, the author of the MTSU summer reading book, A Question of Freedom.
