Programs and departments reporting within the division of student affairs include
a variety of areas related to services and facilities designed to enhance the quality
of campus life for students, while promoting student learning and assisting students
to become more effective in their academic pursuits.
Career Development Center
This center provides career and employment information and services to students and
graduates to assist them in the pursuit of their chosen career goals. Bill Fletcher is the center director. The main office is located in room 328 of the Keathley University
Center.
Counseling & Testing Services
Counseling & Testing Services welcomes students to make an appointment and talk about
virtually any personal concern or question they might have. Dr. Jane Tipps is the director. The Counseling Office is in room 329 of the Keathley University
Center and the Testing Office is in KUC 327.
Disabled Student Services
Disabled Student Services offers a wide variety of services to students with disabilities.
John Harris , director of the program, and his staff will assist in determining and providing
appropriate accommodations best suited to help our students be successful on campus.
The office is in room 120 of the Keathley University Center.
Student Athlete Enhancement Center
The Student Athlete Enhancement Center provides tutoring, advising, and other academic
support services for MTSU athletes. Todd Wyant is director of the center. The center is located on the southwest corner of Floyd
Stadium.
Student Support Services (TRIO)
Student Support Services is 100% federally funded by the US Dept of Education and
serves low income and academically at risk students. Their mission is to increase
the retention and graduation rates of program participants. Cricket Pimentel is the coordinator. Student Support Services is located in Midgett Building, room
101.
Campus Recreation
The Campus Recreation Department provides a comprehensive program of recreational
activities for MTSU students. Charlie Gregory is the director of Campus Recreation which also houses the Cheerleading office.
Child Care Lab
The MTSU Child Care Lab serves as a daycare resource for our students who are parents,
as well as providing pre-school teaching experiences for MTSU students. Nancy James serves as the center director.
Housing and Residential Life
Housing and Residential Life creates living/learning communities in on-campus residence
halls and apartments that accommodate up to 3,400 MTSU students. Andy Bickers serves as Director of Housing and Residential Life. The main office is located in
the Keathley University Center, room 300.
Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services
This office seeks to promote student learning, growth, and development by increasing
awareness of the University's expectations of behavior, holding students accountable
for violations of these expectations, and developing educational sanctions designed
to help students learn from their mistakes. Laura Sosh-Lightsy is the Assistant Dean of Students and is located in Keathley University Center, room
128.
New Student and Family Programs
The Office of New Student and Family Programs coordinates the MTSU new student orientation
program known as CUSTOMS. They're in charge of Convocation, and they sponsor the Parents
Association, Family Weekend, and the Distinguished Lecture Program. Gina Poff is the Director of New Student and Family Programs. Their office is in room 326 of
the Keathley University Center.
Student Health Services
MTSU Student Health Services treats minor illnesses and injuries on an outpatient
basis much like a doctor's office. Richard Chapman is the director. They are located in the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center.
Student Programming
Student Programming plans and schedules programs and major events that are brought
to campus. Rich Kershaw is the director. His office is in room 340 of the Student Union Building. Visit Student

Student Unions
The MTSU student union facilities provide convenient, high-quality facilities and
efficient services to support University programs and community. The union facilities
are designed to enhance campus life and advance the University’s educational mission.
