By submitting this form, you acknowledge that all information is accurate and complete as stated within this application. Completing this application is not a guarantee of being accepted into the program. The program director reserves the right to review the permanent record of each applicant and will have access to applicant’s MTSU course grades while he/she is enrolled in the Scholars Academy.

By submitting this application, you acknowledge an understanding of the effort and time the student is undertaking if accepted into the Scholars Academy. You understand that the program operates on a college campus; as such, students are expected to be responsible members of the community.

Instruction costs, room & board and textbooks for the Summer Institute will be provided at no charge; however, students who exit the program due to disciplinary reasons may be asked to reimburse the Academy for costs spent on their behalf.



 

Matriculation Policy

It is the mission of the Scholars Academy Freshmen Summer Institute to help retain students through graduation from Middle Tennessee State University. 

Students who do not maintain adequate academic standing will be counseled and provided additional support as needed. 

Students who maintain good academic standing are expected to graduate from the program. At the end of each enrolled semester, students will be required to meet with their academic advisor to review their academic progress. Failure to meet with their academic advisor may result in a hold being placed on their student account.

NOTE: In order to be considered for admittance into the Scholars Academy program, all applicants must have received an official letter of acceptance to the university. Applications will be accepted for those students who have received a tentative letter of acceptance, however those not gaining full acceptance into the university by the time of final selections will NOT be considered for admittance into the program.
