TALK is focused on educating parents, teachers, pediatricians, nurses, and housing professionals about childhood lead poisoning and protecting Tennessee children from this easily preventable danger. We are:
Kathy Mathis, PhD, EDS Principal Investigator
Dr. Mathis teaches Environmental Science and Technology at MTSU based out of the Engineering Technology. Dr. Mathis earned her BS in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville TN, her MS in Occupational Safety and Health from MTSU, and her Ed.D. in Higher Education and Administration from Tennessee State University in Nashville TN.
Faye Shores Ralston, M.S., Program Manager
Faye earned her BS and MS in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Occupational Safety and Health and has been with the TN LEAP grant since January 2004. She manages all grant daily operations, including reporting and financial requirements.
Leigh Woodcock, Program Coordinator
Leigh earned her B.S. in Sociology and Family Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. She coordinates partner activities and conducts childhood lead poisoning outreach and education to Tennessee families and professionals.
