Nancy Ammerman studied with many of the pioneers of dance in America. Among them are: Felia Doubrovska, George Balanchine, William Christensen, Ruth Page, Robert Joffrey, and Alexandra Danilova. Professionally she danced with Ballet West, Chicago Opera Ballet, Maryland Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Memphis Ballet, and Nashville Ballet. She was coached for principle roles by Pierre Vladimiroff a partner of Anna Pavlova, Natalie Krassovska an original member of Ashton’s Pas de Quatre, Kenneth Melville and Elaine Thomas of the Royal Ballet of London. She has choreographed for ballet companies as well as opera and musical theater. Ms. Ammerman taught for twelve years at the School of the Nashville Ballet. Currently she is an instructor at Middle Tennessee State University and is the Chair of the Dance Division for the Tennessee Governors’ School for the Arts. She is also the Assistant Director of the MTSU Dance Theatre.
