Tommy Macon

Costume Studio
Tommy Macon, associate professor
of costume design, joined the Department of Speech
and Theatre in 2006. He received a B.A. in
theatre from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and
an M.F.A. in costume design from the University of
Tennessee. He spent the previous 10 years as an
assistant professor at Idaho State University where
he was awarded tenure and at UNC Wilmington and the
University of Utah. Professor Macon maintains
an active professional career as both a costume
designer and technologist. His credits include
design work for the Utah Festival Opera, Pioneer
Theatre Company, and Birmingham Summerfest as well as
costume construction work for the Alabama Shakespeare
Festival, Pioneer Theatre, Moscow Ballet, and Utah
Shakespearean Festival.
