Student Bios

angelaAngela Forte (Assitant Director) is in her final senior year at MTSU. She is honored to be working on a second show with Halena as well as with this beautiful and dedicated cast and crew. She will also be assisting with APO's production of Hand to God and the department seasons Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat.

Blake Holliday (Female Chorus) is currently in his final semester here at MTSU. He is majoring in Journalism, and minoring in both Theatre and Fashion Merchandising. Some of his favorite past credits include Jason/Tyrone in Hand to God (Actors Bridge Ensemble), Mind in Kafka's Metamorphosis (MTSU), William Barfée in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Pulltight Players), and Franz in Rock of Ages (ACCC). He is thrilled for this opportunity, and honored to work among this inspiring cast, crew, and production team!

Brianna Smart (Teenage Chorus) is a junior here at MTSU, pursuing a theatre degree with a focus in performance and a minor in musical theatre. Recent credits include Grete in Kafka's Metamorphosis, Deb in Ordinary Days, and CB's Sister in Dog Sees God. While she enjoys performing she also has a passion for working with children and using theatre as a means of developing empathy and encouraging curiosity with the kids she works with. She hopes that this show is both enjoyable and thought provoking for those who see it!

Kaitlynn Newcomb (Assistant Stage Manager) is touched to have been a part of this journey with this wonderful cast and crew. She has previously been seen in Peter Pan (Indian) and will be in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Sunflower) this November. Thank you Halena, Mom, Dad, Melanie, and Scott. Laura Pickard (Male Chorus) is a Sophomore, Theatre major, and Writing minor here at MTSU. She is an experienced writer, actor, and composer with aspirations of making a career as a playwright. This is Laura’s first production at MTSU and she’s grateful to the cast, director, and production crew for an amazing first experience.

Matthew Phillips (Assistant stage manager) is fresh off of working on Brighton Beach Memoirs and honored to be working on this production!. In the past year he's also been involved with Peter Pan, Next to Normal, and Kafka's Metamorphoses in both on-stage and off-stage roles. This show has been such an emotional experience from beginning to end!

Shelby Latham (Stage Manager) has worked on many productions in MTSU’s theatre department such as Peter Pan or APO’s Life Under the Big Top as well as multiple shows outside of the university such as Knoxville Opera’s Mefistofeles and University of Tennessee’s The Consul. She hopes to continue learning and honing her skills as a stage manager here at MTSU before graduating next fall and stepping out into the professional theatre world.
