Call for Nominations!
2012 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology

The LT&ITC's Teaching, Learning and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) is seeking nominations for the 2012 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology. The award funds registration and travel expenses to attend the International Conference on College Teaching and Learning, April 8-12, 2012. (For more information visit http://www.teachlearn.org/.) The conference emphasizes the use of innovative strategies, such as interactive and cooperative learning, combined with the use of technology to support higher education learning.

Selected faculty from institutions across the country attend the conference and receive the "Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology" in a special ceremony.  Award recipients are asked to submit a paper for presentation at the conference describing their work dealing with successful practices and research to improve higher education learning. The 2012 MTSU award and conference trip is being sponsored by the University Deans.

Maria Clayton, 2009 recipient stated : "One of the richest faculty development opportunities available to MTSU's faculty is being recognized by Teaching, Learning and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) with MTSU's Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology. This award is accompanied by a trip to the International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in Florida, a cross-disciplinary forum for higher education faculty engaged in the blossoming research and scholarship field of technology integration into academia. Winning the award locally also makes the recipient eligible for the Ernest L. Boyer International Award for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology, as well as having his/her conference paper considered for publication in the conference's Selected Papers . As if all this were not enough, the sharing of insights and ideas with faculty across the curriculum, across the globe, makes this an invaluable experience. Thank you, TLTR."

If you would like to nominate one of your colleagues for the 2012 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology, please write a brief letter of nomination, sign the letter, and ask the nominee's department chair to also sign the letter.   The deadline for submitting nominations and supporting materials is Wednesday, October 17, 2012.  Then, have your nominee submit your letter of nomination, a description of his or her work (up to 3 pages of text plus supplementary material, if any), and a 2-page resume (including teaching and instructional technology accomplishments). More than one faculty member from the same department may be nominated.
