In preparing for transfer, you need to be informed and organized. Use this checklist to organize the steps in your decision process. Log on and use the URLs to get more detailed information.

• Preview how your credits will transfer to MTSU:
  All coursework completed at previously attended colleges and universities will be evaluated and posted to your MTSU transcript as part of the admissions process. Previewing your credit transfer helps you become familiar with the MTSU transfer credit evaluation process.
  
• Preview MTSU transfer policies:
  Check all policies for the elements that will be considered in the transition process. These policies include how previous college credits will be transferred, transfer evaluation process, acceptance of credit, advising, associate degrees, and departmental requirements.
  
• Check MTSU admission requirements:
  The admissions requirements are an essential factor of your admission to the university. Check these carefully. Applicants who graduated from high school after 1992 should check the MTSU Required High School Course page.
• Preview MTSU degree requirements:
  Your major program requirements can be found at this link. Go over these and be familiar with what is offered and required in your program.
• Arrange campus visit and preliminary advising:
  Get familiar with the campus. Come and visit! Make an appointment ahead of time with Admissions Office and your academic department or plan to attend a Special Transfer Information Session and tour just for transfer students.

• Preview available testing and placement:
  This is an important step. Be sure to read the information at this URL carefully! The Placement Test assists in course placement in General Education or prior coursework to General Education requirements, and may result in requiring that you enroll in developmental courses in addition to your degree program.

  How much will it cost? Check this URL for fee information so you can start your financial planning.
