Academic advisor - MTSU designated staff member who gives you advice on course selection by term. This staff member may be a faculty, college or Academic Support Center advisor.
Academic major - your selected program of study leading to a degree.
Articulation agreement - formal transfer agreements between academic institutions regarding the honoring of transfer credit.
Candidacy - preliminary stage of an academic major; students must meet specified requirements to be granted admission to upper division courses to complete degree.
Course equivalency (transfer equivalency) - An MTSU course having the same course content as transfer course and has been approved as an equivalency by originating MTSU academic department.
Course substitution - a transfer course evaluated for credit to be applied to degree program as determined by academic advisor.
Prerequisite - a course you must complete before taking the next course level.
Registration - the process of enrolling in selected courses for an academic term.
Transcript - a record verifying enrollment and achievement of credits received at an institution.
