MTSU Online Student Services

MTSU offers the same services to distance learners that are offered to on-campus students. Many of the services have been web-enabled to allow distance learners easier access.

A getting started section is provided for first-time distance learners who require assistance with starting an MTSU online or hybrid course.

MTSU Online Virtual Open House

Disability & Access Center

The center serves the campus community by providing accommodations that level the academic playing field. The Disability & Access Center supports student success by promoting independence, cultural awareness, access, advocacy, universal design principles, and technological advances culminating in the understanding that disability is a natural part of the life experience. Students complete and submit a registration application along with medical documentation through the DAC Student Portal. Students login into the student portal using their MTSU email and password (PipelineMT Login).

Distance Learning Library

Distance Learning Library Services provides access to library research assistance, the ability to borrow books from James E. Walker Library and instruction in using the online catalog and full-text electronic databases. Students may contact the designated librarian for students in online courses at 615-898-2549 or email Sharon.Parente@mtsu.edu. Students can also schedule an appointment with the online library assistant here.

  

Testing Center

Testing services are provided as a service to both students and the public. Testing Services offer a variety of standardized and high stakes tests. For information regarding registration for a specific test, visit our Testing Services page, and click on the test you are interested in. Registration procedures and cost are specified for every test we give. If you can't find what you are looking for, call 898-2863, and our staff will answer your questions. The Testing Center is located in the Keathley University Center (KUC) 107 and is open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Online Counseling

The MTSU Center for Counseling and Psychological Services is pleased to provide online counseling services to MTSU online and distance education students. They offer  personal counseling, assisting students in their emotional, intellectual and social growth. Students must meet the following criteria: be currently enrolled in a minimum of one (1) online course at MTSU, demonstrate the need for distance counseling, and have the required technology. MTSU Online Counseling is only available during the Fall and Spring semesters. Students have the option of meeting online (via videoconferencing by appointment) with counselors, and a self-help option is available for students who wish to receive immediate assistance via Therapy Assistance Online (TAO). Tutoring

All students who take at least one online or distance class have FREE access to online tutoring through TutorMe. TutorMe provides 24/7 access to online tutoring for students in several educational areas. Students can also submit a paper to TutorMe's writing lab for review. Writing Center

The University Writing Center offers free assistance for any writing assignment in any class. Online services are always available. If you would like help in person, the center is located in James E. Walker Library, Room 362. The Writing Center supports all levels of writers in all disciplines at any stage of the writing process for any kind of written project or assignment including multimedia projects.

The center offers 25-minute and 45-minute sessions face-to-face or online as well as group sessions and long-term writing partnerships. To schedule an appointment, access the online portal WCONLINE.

Veterans and Military Family Center

The Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center is the largest and most comprehensive veterans center on any Tennessee higher education campus. It enables the over 1,000 military-connected student population on campus to have a one-stop shop to meet a variety of academic needs. It is a place for our military-connected students to study, to gather, and to get help from fellow veterans, who will serve as peer advisors and sponsors. Health Services

The mission of MTSU Student Health Services is to ensure delivery of affordable, accessible and high quality health care integrated with the promotion of lifelong wellness for MTSU students.  Health Services is located in the location in the Health, Wellness & Recreation Center (REC) and is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during fall and spring semesters. During summer and semester breaks open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and closed during university holidays. An after-hours telephone advice nurse is available by calling 615-898-2988 and follow the prompts.  

Career Development Center

The Career Development Center assists individuals with resume writing, career interests, and interviewing skills. The core of our approach is a highly personalized model for career counseling, job search coaching, and providing assistance for graduate and professional school applications. We seek to build a community of support and connect students to resources, people, and experiences for a successful transition from college to career. The staff provides career advising, resume building, graduate and professional application assistance, job search guidance, workshops and presentations. MTSU online students may file a formal complaint on the Issue Reporting website. You may also contact Online Student Services at 615-904-8391.

Bookstore

Phillips Bookstore is located in the Student Union Building 1st Floor. Students can either purchase or rent books for their courses. Click the link to find course material needed. You can find the books you need for courses by searching using your M# or by the course.

Student Support Services 

Many students transitioning from foster care and homeless situations will qualify for membership in the Student Support Services (SSS) program at MTSU. These students are eligible to receive additional free tutoring, academic and financial aid advising, opportunities to participate in cultural and campus events, and exposure to a wide variety of academic and success workshops designed to enhance their academic success.

MT Pipeline

Pipeline MT serves as the portal for online course access and as a centralized location to register for classes, check grades, review the campus schedule of events, etc. MTSU online courses may
also be accessed using eleam. Logging in to elearn to access online courses prevents timing out of the system during tests or exams. Additional assistance is provided at the D2L Video Tutorials link.

Blue ID

MTSU ID office has launched BlueID Online as a one-stop destination to upload your own ID photo and receive your MTSU ID in the mail or pick it up in person. The BlueID office is open in SSAC 112, 615-898-5523. Log in at https://blueid.mtsu.edu/login/index.php.

Academic Calendar

MTSU’s Academic Calendar provides each semester schedule including the dates of priority registration, start and end of classes, holiday closings, final exams, etc.
