New Teacher Training for Occupational Licensed Teachers

July 15-19, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Teachers attending this workshop should report directly to CKNB, Room N116. Please see C3 on the campus map.

Teachers should attend all five days and will receive one five day certificate upon completion of this training.

Not sure which training to take?

If you have NO Certificates for Occupational License training:

This training is ONLY applicable to teachers who started after January 1, 2013 OR HAVE NOT previously attended ANY new teacher training provided by the Department of Education. 

New Teacher training for Occupational licensed instructors will be July 15-19, 2013 at MTSU. The training will be concurrent with the Institute for CTE Educators.

Teachers must attend all five days of the training to meet the requirement. Note: Teachers must attend the new teacher training within their first year of teaching.

(Another five day new teacher training workshop will be provided in January for teachers hired after the July training. Teachers must attend all five days at one time to satisfy the requirement.)

If you have a 2 OR 3 Day Certificate for Occupational License training:

Teachers who HAVE previously completed a two day OR three day training will have the opportunity to obtain the remainder of their requirement (whether two days or three days) at the Institute for CTE Educators. Click here for information about the Institute for CTE Educators.

· Teachers who need to finish three days of new teacher training will need to attend the Institute for CTE Educators July 15-17 and attend at least five starred sessions per day for a total of 15 starred sessions.

· Teachers who need to finish two days of new teacher training will need to attend the Institute for CTE Educators July 16-17 and attend at least five starred sessions per day for a total of 10 starred sessions.
