- CEDL Advisory Board established January 1999.
- Rutherford County Cable Commission awarded channel 9 to Continuing Studies for the
airing of telecourses.
- MTSU joins the Southern Regional Electronic Campus. ( www.srec.sreb.org)
- Online Course Guidelines adopted.
- Received $5,000 ATT grant to help fund online courses to train teachers in the use
of technology, and launched first course SPSE 322 "Teaching with Technology" taught
by Dr. Jay Sanders.
- MTSU awarded second cable channel to air telecourses, January 1999.
