• Compressed video classes were offered for the first time, Fall 1994.
• Vision Institute recognized as a distinguished credit program by ACHE.

1998/1999

• CEDL Advisory Board established January 1999.
• Rutherford County Cable Commission awarded channel 9 to Continuing Studies for the airing of telecourses.
• MTSU joins the Southern Regional Electronic Campus. ( www.srec.sreb.org)
• Online Course Guidelines adopted.
• Received $5,000 ATT grant to help fund online courses to train teachers in the use of technology, and launched first course SPSE 322 "Teaching with Technology" taught by Dr. Jay Sanders.
• MTSU awarded second cable channel to air telecourses, January 1999.
• Distance course enrollments:
