Coming Soon: A revised Bachelor of University Studies degree. Click here to learn more about the new B.Unv.S. |
The Bachelor of University Studies degree is an alternative, four-year degree for students choosing to pursue a broad-based educational experience. This program offers flexible course scheduling and may be particularly appropriate for students with prior credits that can be applied to a four-year degree. The Bachelor of University Studies is not designed to provide training in a particular vocation or area of specialization.
Overall 120 semester hours are required. Included are a minimum of 60 hours from a four-year institution, including 42 upper-division (3/4000-level) courses, of which 30 hours must be taken at MTSU.
The last 18 hours must be completed through MTSU. With approval from the dean, six of these hours may be completed by extension or at another accredited college or university. There are limits on the number of hours accepted for credit-by-examination, credit for service-related experience, and flight training. Students should consult with a University advisor.
